As an Admin, you can Create Courses and then Edit Courses. Within this section we will discuss how to create courses and edit courses and their different settings.
Course vs. Section
A course can be looked at as the “Subject” that is provided by a school. Meanwhile, a section is better looked at as the specific class taking that subject. For example: A school offers an 8:00am Algebra II class taught by Mrs. Johnson and then an 11:30am Algebra II class taught by Mr. Richards. The way this would be in the system would be: an Algebra II Course then would hold two Sections, one for Mrs. Johnson’s class and one for Mr. Richard’s class.
Sign in to your Admin ClassReach account.
Navigate to the Courses tab at the top of your screen.
To Create a New Course
Click the +Course button in the left hand side bar.
Fill out all relevant fields:
Course Name: This will be what appears on reports and transcripts.
Course Number: This will be the number your school assigns to this course, many times the number can indicate what academic level/subject etc. the course is.
Subject Abbreviation: This will be a short note for the course. For example: Alg may be uses from Algebra.
Tuition: This is good to use if you are using the Financial Feature and charge per course taken.
Description: This is where you can tell your users a little about what they can expect to learn in the course.
Next will be any Course Options you have set!
Academic Level: These will be the academic levels that are eligible to take the course.
Select a Department: If you have set departments, this is where you would assign the course to a department.
To Edit a Current Course
Use the left hand side bar to locate the course you would like to edit.
Click the Edit button at the top right of the window.
